Frequently asked questions about recruitment

1. What is Recruitment?

Our chapter holds a recruitment cycle during the beginning of the Spring and Fall semesters. Recruitment consists of 4 events designed for potential new members to meet active brothers and better understand who we are as a chapter and as a fraternity. If you attend our recruitment events, you will be invited to submit an application and partake in our interview process. After applying and interviewing, you may or may not receive a bid to pledge for our chapter.

2. What are the requirements to join dsp and what do you look for in candidates?

Delta Sigma Pi is open to all freshman, sophomore, and juniors majoring in Business or Economics who have at least a 2.5 GPA. We look for candidates who share our values of brotherhood, professionalism, community service, and scholarship, as well as those who are academically and professionally motivated. Brothers have joined Delta Sigma Pi for many reasons: to get involved on campus, meet new people, better themselves professionally, and to join an organization with like-minded individuals.

3. What if I can’t make it to a recruitment event?

No worries! There are 4 recruitment events and it’s important to attend as many as you can. That being said, we understand that many students work or have other commitments that may prevent them from attending a recruitment event.

4. How many people are offered bids each semester?

We don’t have a set number of bids that we give out, it all depends on the quality of the current semester’s applicants.

5. How do I know if I’ve been given a bid?

Bids will be posted after all recruitment events have finished. You will receive an email with information about bids following your final interview.

6. If I don’t receive a bid, can I still come out again in the future?

Absolutely! We see applications from those who have come out previously as a sign of dedication and persistence.

7. What is business casual or business professional?

Business professional requires a full matching suit. Men must wear a button-down shirt and tie, while women must wear flats or low heels with either a skirt or slacks. If you do not have a professional suit for recruitment, don’t worry. Please dress as professionally as you can and remember to come to your interviews in professional. If you receive a bid and pledge Delta Sigma Pi, you will need a full suit.

Business casual has the same requirements as business professional, but without a jacket.
